Bring Back the Theater
What's going on at Theater at the Fort? Glad you asked!
Well, it has been said, we all know nothing good comes easy, and if anything this project is confirmation of just how GREAT the Fort Benjamin Harrison Theater is! It's been quite a rollercoaster, but rest assured a dedicated team of supporters are working hard to put the puzzle pieces together and bring our beloved theater at the Fort back to the community. We plan to bring the theater back to all its glory and more, and make it once again Lawrence's' favorite venue for performing arts and community programming.
The good news is we have a group of Lawrence community theater supporters that are very capable, want to move quickly, and have aligned interests with the historical significance and future use of the theater. We are working through the due diligence and hope to have some good news soon!
This is truly a community-wide project and it takes the support of so many to keep it alive.

Partnerships for Lawrence is conducting a feasibility study to expand performing arts programming in Lawrence. At this time we are interested in receiving statements of interest from performing arts organizations looking to develop audiences in a new cultural district in Lawrence Township. Partnerships for Lawrence's role would likely include marketing and promotion support, development of promotional partnerships, venue management and development of the cultural destination to build audiences and expand artistic offerings. If your organization is interested, please download the Request for Statements of Interest(PDF), fill it out, and follow the directions to submit it to Judy Byron, our executive director.
